| How do I request an absentee ballot? |
Applications for absentee ballots must be made in writing.
You may download a form (PDF format) here
You are not required to use the form; you may instead write a letter to your county election board to apply for an absentee ballot. You must provide your name, birth date, voting residence, mailing address, the election for which you are requesting a ballot, and your signature. You may apply for absentee ballots for one election, for several elections or for all elections in which you are eligible to vote during the calendar year in which the application is submitted. |
| Where do I send the request? |
You may mail, fax, or hand-deliver your absentee ballot application to the county election board
office. You may not have someone else hand-deliver it. For county election board contact information,

| What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot? |
The clerk must receive your request by 5:00 pm on the Wednesday preceding Election Day: January 30 for the Primary Election August 20 for the Runoff Election October 29 for the General Election |
| What is the voting procedure? |
Follow the instructions provided with your absentee ballot and mail it back to your county election
board. |
| What are the deadlines for voting absentee? |
If your absentee ballot is mailed to you, you must return it to the county election board by mail. An
absentee ballot must be received by the county election board by 7:00 pm on Election Day: Primary Election: February 5 Primary Runoff Election: August 26 General Election: November 4 |
| What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008? |
