How do I request an absentee ballot?

 Send a written request to your county board of elections that includes your name, residence address, date of birth, signature and mailing address; or you can call your elections official to request an application.

What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?

 Requests must be received on later than the Tuesday prior to Election Day. You can begin making requests 50 days prior to Election Day.
General: October 28.
What are the deadlines for voting absentee?

 The ballot must be received in the County Board of Elections Office by 5:00 pm on the day before Election Day:
November 3 for the General Election
What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008?

 General Election: November 4
By-mail voter registration must be postmarked by 25 days prior to Election Day for the voter to be eligible for that election.

Is permanent absentee status available?

 No.
Additional information:

 Special Postage Notice for Mail-In Absentee Ballots: Some counties use ballot return envelops that do not qualify for standard letter rates. The postage on these envelops cost at least $0.83. Check with your post office before mailing your absentee ballot.
