Write to your county’s circuit clerk by mail to ask for an application for an absentee ballot. |

| What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot? |
The Secretary of State’s voter information guide recommends that you contact your Circuit or
Municipal Clerk at least two weeks before Election Day. |
| What is the voting procedure? |
Mail in a request for an application for an absentee ballot. The counties take requests starting 45 days
prior to Election Day. Once they send an application, fill it out and return it. They will mail you an
absentee ballot, which must be filled out and returned to the county clerk’s office. |
| What are the deadlines for voting absentee? |
Ballot must be received by the clerk by 5:00 pm the Monday before Election Day: March 10 for the Primary Election November 3 for the General Election |

Primary Election: March 11 General Election: November 4 Voter registration closes 30 days prior to Election Day. |
