| What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot? |
Requests can be made at any time and sent one day before Election Day. However, absentee ballots
are first mailed 30 days before Election Day, so it is advisable to make a request before then to ensure
sufficient return time. |

Request an absentee ballot. Once a ballot is mailed to you, complete and return it to the county
auditor or municipal clerk. Detailed instructions will be provided and are available online. |

| Is permanent absentee status available? |
Yes, but this is only for a United States citizen living permanently outside the United States who is
eligible under federal law to vote in federal elections in Minnesota. |
