How do I request an absentee ballot?

Absentee ballots can only be obtained through the county clerk’s office. Contact your county clerk in person or by mail, phone, or fax.

What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?

Your request must be received no later than seven days before Election Day
May 13 for the Primary Election
October 28 for the General Election

What is the voting procedure?

Vote your paper absentee ballot exactly according to the instructions you receive with it. Please note, if you do not qualify for a paper absentee ballot, you may still be able to vote “absentee” in your county clerk’s office 12 or more days before Election Day. Please see the address listed above for more information on who qualifies for voting absentee by mail and who can vote absentee in person.

What are the deadlines for voting absentee?

Primary Election: May 20
General Election: November 4

What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008?

May 20: Primary Election (Registration closes April 22)
November 4: General Election (Registration closes October 7)
Voter registration closes 28 days prior to Election Day.

Although Kentucky does not provide voters with an online form for applying for an absentee ballot, the state elections website does list contact information for county clerks, whom voters must contact directly in order to receive an absentee ballot.
