| How do I request an absentee ballot? |
You can print out an absentee ballot request form (PDF format) online here. You will have to include the following information: name under which you are registered to vote, home address (i.e., in Hawaii), birth date, Social Security number, election(s) in which you intend to vote absentee (primary, general, or both), address to which your ballot should be mailed, and your signature. |

Send it to the appropriate county clerk for the county in which your Hawaii residence is located.
The addresses are on the form. |
| What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot? |
You must mail your request form no earlier than 60 days and no later than 7 days prior to
Election Day: February 19 for the Democratic Presidential Primary February 24 for the Republican Presidential Primary October 28 for the General Election |
| What is the voting procedure? |
No witnesses are required unless you are unable to sign your name on the form. |
| What are the deadlines for voting absentee? |
All absentee ballots must be received by the appropriate county election clerk (listed on the
application form) no later than the close of polls on Election Day: Primary Election: September 23 General Election: November 4 |
| What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008? |
February 26 for the Democratic Presidential Primary (Registration closes January 25) March 2 for the Republican Presidential Primary (Registration closes January 30) General Election: November 4 (Registration closes October 6) |
