How do I request an absentee ballot?

What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?

 By 7 days before Election Day:
Primary Election: January 29
General Election: October 28
What are the deadlines for voting absentee?

 Ballots must be received at clerk’s office by 7:30 pm on Election Day (you may not fax a ballot):
Preferential Primary Election: February 5
General Election: November 4

 Preferential Primary Election: February 5
General Primary Runoff Election: June 10
General Election and Nonpartisan Judicial Runoff Election: November 4

Are there requirements for first-time voters?

 Your application is valid for one year.
Is permanent absentee status available?

 No.
Additional information:

 In order to qualify for an absentee ballot, you must be either, a) "unavoidably absent" from your polling site on Election Day, or b) unable to go to the polling site on Election Day due to sickness or injury.
