| What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot? |
In Alabama, the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is five calendar days before Election Day: January 31 for the Primary Election October 31 for the General Election |
| What is the voting procedure? |
The absentee ballot comes with three envelopes—one plain, one with an affidavit, or oath, printed on the outside, and one preaddressed envelope. Once you have filled out the ballot, the procedure is as

By Mail: the ballot must be postmarked by the day before Election Day: February 4 for the Primary Election November 3 for the General Election In Person: the absentee ballot must be received by the absentee election manager by the close of business (but no later than 5 PM) on the day prior to the election. |
