In order to request an absentee ballot, you will have to provide proof of Alaska residence. Examples of acceptable documents include a photocopy of a current Alaska driver’s license, student loan documents, and proof of employment in Alaska. |

| What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot? |
Applications must be received at least ten days prior to Election Day: January 26 for the Primary Election October 25 for the General Election |
| What is the voting procedure? |
Fill out the ballot and have your signature witnessed on the back of the envelope. Your witness(es)
should be either one authorized official (defined as someone with the legal authority to administer
an oath), or two people over the age of 18. Please consult the “By-Mail Ballot Instructions” which you
should receive with your ballot. Absentee voting is also available in the following ways: In person: 15 days prior to Election Day By fax: 15 days prior to Election Day |
